Draft bill on compulsory possession of Covid Vaccination Card approved by AG

The draft bill on banning people who have not received both Covid vaccines from entering public places has received the Attorney General’s approval. This has been confirmed by Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

Accordingly, the bill will be taken into force, making it compulsory for people to have their vaccination card in possession when entering public places.

The compulsory possession of the vaccine card was proposed a few months ago, but no action was taken in this regard due to the significant number of people who were yet to complete their vaccination.
