Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa expressing his condolences to the victims of the adverse weather conditions at the commencement of Parliament today (10) promised that necessary agreements will be made to provide relief to the people affected by the weather crisis.
The Prime Minister stated that he will be expressing his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives due to the crisis.
“Honourable Speaker, first of all I must say that the people of our country have been severely affected by the adverse weather conditions prevailing these days. A large number of people have been oppressed. The government is taking steps to provide relief to those affected. I also take this opportunity to express my condolences to the families who lost their lives due to the adverse weather,” the Prime Minister said.
He added that it is scheduled to table a report to the House on Disaster Management and providing relief to those affected by the crisis.
