Former MP Ranjan Ramanayake who is spending a prison sentence at Angunakolapelessa Prison has reportedly been taken to the Orthopaedic clinic of the Colombo National Hospital, due to a knee injury.
Upon treatment the former MP has been taken to Welikada Prison and will be remanded till November 16, said Commissioner General of Prison (Administration) Chandana Ekanayake. Ramanayake is set to be brought back to the clinic on November 16.
Former MP Ramanayake was convicted for Contempt of Court and has been imprisoned since June 26. Previously he had been admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital in Galle for about a week for the knee injury.
