There are no such harmful bacteria in the stock of organic fertilizer imported from China

It is reported that a third party has confirmed that there are no such harmful bacteria in the stock of organic fertilizer imported from China which was rejected by the National Plant Quarantine Institute as containing harmful bacteria.

This certificate is issued by Schutter Global Inspection and Survey Company.

According to the report, the sample tested did not contain any salmonella, coliform or other harmful bacteria.

It is also stated that the tests have been carried out in accordance with ISO 4832-2006.

However, the National Plant Quarantine Agency in Sri Lanka has stated that the stock of fertilizer is unfit for use and China has continued to reject the rejection.

As a result, the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka had summoned Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Government Minister Shashindra Rajapaksa for a discussion.

It was during that discussion that a third party agreed to re-test the fertilizer samples.

However, the Minister of Agriculture had stated that the fertilizer samples would not be given to a third party for testing and that the ship would be sent back. Even yesterday the government emphasized that the fertilizer would not be allowed to enter the country.
