Wimal, Udaya and Vasudeva continue their opposition against the Yugadanavi agreement

Ministers Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Gammanpila, and Vasudeva Nanayakkara have filed objections in the Supreme Court in support of the Yugadanavi fundamental rights petitions.

Although these ministers represented the ruling party, they opposed the Yugadanavi agreement and stressed that it should be withdrawn immediately.

When the fundamental rights petitions which were filed in the Supreme Court were heard, they were represented by private lawyers without the assistance of the Attorney General’s Department.

These fundamental rights petitions have been filed challenging the agreement reached between the Government of Sri Lanka and New Fortress Energy to sell 40% of the Yugadanavi power plant to an American company.
